The Old City Hall

The city of Kelheim built its city hall in the middle of the intersection of the two main avenues. It was demolished in 1824, and the City Council moved to what is known today as the "Altes Rathaus" (Old City Hall). This building, having formally belonged to the city scribe, had been built in 1598 and renovated in the 17th century, when a baroque facade was added. Passing through the large entryway to the courtyard, you will see an attractive garden with a fountain.
